ESC Professional Techs Graduate from Turner School of Construction Management

Education is one of the most important aspects of providing maximum value for money spent where it comes to the many professional services that Electronic Systems Consultants LLC (ESC) provides. Recently John Larkin, Senior Partner with ESC of greater Ohio (center), attended the graduation of Wayne Clay (left) and Chris McNeill (right), both of which recently graduated from the Turner School of Construction Management for Emerging Minority and Women-Owned Businesses.
"I am proud of Chris and Wayne for taking time out of their evenings each week for the past three months to attend this class,” says Larkin. “This training will have an immediate impact on our business model approach. It will expand our ability to better service our clients in the local and regional marketplace for construction projects. These guys are ready to hit the ground running where it comes to estimating, bidding and running ESC projects"
Since 1969, Turner has presented The Turner School of Construction Management for Emerging Minority and Women-owned Businesses. This free program is offered to construction industry professionals who want to expand their understanding and business fundamentals within the AEC industry. Graduates benefit from increased marketability, knowledge of business and financial best practices, and a broader range of project opportunities.

ESC Gives Back by Assisting Lutheran Social Services' Food Pantry in Columbus

Team ESC (Electronic Systems Consultants LLC) of Greater Ohio took time out of a busy schedule to assist the Lutheran Social Services food pantry.

"I believe in paying forward our appreciation to the greater Columbus community for being so good to us as a OMBE firm," says John Larkin, ESC Senior Partner. Our employees assisted the pantry in handing out food to those of the community who are presently less fortunate than we are."

The Lutheran Social Services provides food at the Champion Avenue Food Pantry for people in need. Groups from Gethsemane stock shelves and assist the families in selecting food for balanced meals. We also regularly collect food and funds for the Food Pantry.

Team ESC (above) shown after assisting at Lutheran Social Services' community give back day at 1460 s. Champion Ave, Columbus.

"It was a great opportunity to work with an organization within our work community to help give back and support people in need," says Larkin. "After it was over, I treated 'Team ESC' to dinner at the Eagle on North High in Columbus."

The pantry also collects non-perishable food year round for the pantry. Volunteers like ESC are occasionally needed to deliver donated goods to the Champion Avenue site. If you would like more information about volunteering at the food pantry, contact the Mission and Ministry Committee, or if you're someone in need of food, you can contact the LSS Food Pantry by calling 614-443-5130 or by visiting them at 1460 S. Champion Avenue, in Columbus, OH. You also can find additional information on the pantry at http://www.lssco.org.

“This was a great opportunity and experience for me as a small business owner looking to expand and grow my company,” says Larkin. “The course is designed to take you away during normal business hours to work on your company and not in your company. It helped me focus on a short and long-term business plan that will be implemented immediately.”
